Luv Michael is a Non Profit 501c 3 organization that produces high quality organic, gluten-free, and nut-free granola without all the harmful chemicals and toxic allergens. The company was founded in 2015 by Lisa Liberatore, MD and her son Michael with the goal of providing meaningful employment and on the job training to autistic adults.
I am passionate about this campaign because it aligns closely with my goals of delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while addressing critical gaps in support for underserved communities. As someone pursuing a career in healthcare with a focus on rural and tribal populations, I am deeply committed to advocating for those who often face systemic barriers to opportunity and well-being. Autism affects 1 in 54 children, and as these children grow into adulthood, the challenges they face—such as a 90% unemployment rate and the loss of essential government support—become a humanitarian crisis that demands action. Organizations like Luv Michael are a lifeline, empowering autistic adults through education, meaningful employment, and community support. Their work inspires me to leverage my skills as a future healthcare provider and as a compassionate advocate for inclusion and equity. By volunteering as a digital advocate for this campaign, I hope to create a brighter, more equitable future for autistic adults while learning valuable lessons about nonprofit innovation in the post-COVID-19 world.
